Palazzo Venturi
In times past MONTE CONTIERI. It is a castle with a parish church(Saint John the Evangelist), on a clayed hillock along the provincial road which leads from Asciano to Chiusure and Monte Oliveto Maggiore, between the Ombrone(westwards)and the watercourse of Copra(eastwards). In recent times, it has been turned into a villa with a holding of the noble sienese family Venturi, from which comes the present name of the castle. In the middle of the last century it has become a property of the Prince Shoemburg of Montenegro and his family, which is related to the marchesi Bargagli, the owners of the near Monte Mori.
