The building is located at Tolomei Street Bartolenga, near the Basilica of St. Agatha. It was built by the Sienese noble family, which owned land and many homes in the countryside of Asciano. In 1317, it was erected a 'hospital (adjacent to the building) called "San Michele Angel" by the will of the woman Bartolomea Messer Orlando Tolomei which he provided all its assets for its construction. This now remain only two tracks: a well-preserved frescoes on the facade and the small balcony access built behind the palace Tolomei
That Palazzu was built, expanded and elevated a different eras, it took the city walls. The original part dates back to the thirteenth century and inside there were a cintato courtyard, stables and remittances, large halls and accommodation of servitude. Today, the characteristics of its windows presents the elegant style of a palace fifteenth.
