Torre a Castello
Ancient fort converted into two villas, families and Cinughi Sienese Piccolomini. From this long age in Castello Torre gave the title to a parish (St. Mary) in the territory of St. Vito in Vensuris.
It puts on a hill between Monte tufaceous Baroni and the Siena-Val di Chiana.
Fu lordship of the Scialenga, which subjected the town of Siena with their many other castles in 1175.
The castle was attacked and destroyed in 1234 by the Florentines. -- Shortly after the battle of
