The Arcipretura of Santa Maria Assunta is a sacred building situated in Rapolano Terme. It was consecrated in 1946 but, of the primitive construction, it has been kept only the rich architectural prospect with coupled columns, in false porphyry of the high altar. The present shape, recently completely restored, dates back to the years before 1830, which is the starting year of longs and radical works. Among the works of art, there is also the venerated image of the “Madonna del Latte”, attributable to the fourteenth-century-painter Paolo di Giovanni Fei.; two oil-tondos on panel of the sixteenth century with the announced Virgin Mary and the announcing Angel; the beautiful seventeenth- century canvas of Our Lady of the Assumption; a small wooden Crucifix of the fifteenth century and the “Madonna which offers the Christ Child to Saint Francesca Romana”, attributable to the seventeenth-century-artist Deifebo Barbarini.
