HEAR THE WHISTLE OF THE STEAM - Sunday, May 11 - Historic Train from Siena to Asciano

08:50 departure from Siena with the historic steam train. Through the Val d'Arbia and the Valle dell'Ombrone you will reach the Monte Antico station, where there is a 25-minute stop during which it will be possible to take videos or photos of the locomotive while it is shunting and when it will refuel with water on the tender.
Then departure towards Asciano, crossing the Val d'Orcia Park (Unesco heritage), the areas of Brunello di Montalcino and the Crete Senesi. Arrival in Asciano at approximately 11:34. Transfer with Minibus (shuttle) provided by the Municipality to the town of Asciano. The route can be done on foot in approximately 20 minutes (1.6 km).

Time available for a free visit of the town and the activities proposed by the Municipality of Asciano: Tuscan Street Food by Olmastrot, Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition by the Ass. Arte dei Vasai della Nobile Contrada del Nicchio di Siena, Cantastorie in Viaggio (ballads and nursery rhymes from the Tuscan folk tradition), Lostinfok Trio (dance music from the Italian and European folk tradition, Boccaccio ad Asciano (Staging of some of Boccaccio's most famous short stories set in the village of Asciano).
Possibility of visiting (for a fee) the town's museums: Palazzo Corboli Museum and Cassioli Museum.
At 2:00 pm start of an optional trekking route accompanied by an environmental guide, upon reservation, free of charge (about 5 km of easy level)
At 4:54 pm departure from Asciano M.O.M. station (town center) for Siena. Arrival at 5:40 pm
