Feast of the Most Holy Crucifix, the third week of September

This year, the parish community of Asciano is preparing to experience one of the most heartfelt and significant moments of its spiritual journey: the Feast of the Most Holy Crucifix, which will be held during the third week of September at the Basilica of Sant'Agata.
Triduum in Preparation for the Feast
The days immediately preceding the feast will be dedicated to a time of reflection and prayer through the traditional Triduum, which will take place from Thursday, September 18th to Saturday, September 20th.
The theme guiding this year's spiritual journey will be: "GLORIA CRUCIS: God Speaks in the Silence of the Cross."
Each day of the triduum, Holy Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 PM, presided over by Father Enrico Grassini, liturgist and preacher, who will accompany us with his guidance in a profound understanding of the mystery of the Cross.
Saturday, September 20 – Evening Performance
At 9:00 PM, in the Auditorium, the celebration will be enriched with a special moment of art and spirituality with the performance: "LIGHT OF DREAMS" – a musical by the Young Theater Company of the Salesian Oratory of Magione di Siena.
Sunday, September 21
The heart of the celebration will be the Solemn Mass at 6:00 PM, which will feature the participation of civil authorities, local associations, and a group of pilgrims from the Lauretana Way.
During the celebration, the parish service groups will also renew their vows, a sign of the living and concrete bond between faith and the daily life of the community.
At the end of the Holy Mass, we will experience the traditional procession through the streets of the town, accompanied by the G. Verdi Philharmonic Orchestra of Asciano and the solemn presence of the Sacred Relic of the Crucifix.
