ASCIANO - A traditional event that excites both adults and children
Here we go! One of Asciano's most beloved traditions returns this year: the 2025 Donkey Palio, organized by the Asciano Contrade Association with the patronage of the Municipality.
Here is the official program:
Saturday, August 30, starting at 6:00 PM – Historic Center, Asciano - Notte Bianca: music, celebration, and evening entertainment with food stands, markets, and entertainment for adults and children.
Wednesday, September 3, 9:00 PM, Basilica of Sant'Agata, Asciano - Palio presentation
Sunday, September 7 – Historic Center, Asciano - 4:00 PM Nocino Festival: traditional games, convivial moments, and fun for the little ones.
The procession departs from the Basilica of Sant'Agata and arrives at the Church of Sant'Agostino.
Saturday, September 13th – G. Marconi Stadium, Asciano - 9:00 AM Selection heats for the participating donkeys - 12:00 PM Assignment of the donkeys to the various districts.
Sunday, September 14th – Corso Matteotti, Asciano - 3:30 PM – Start of the historical parade, with participants in period costumes. 6:00 PM - 47th Palio dei Ciuchi at the G. Marconi Stadium, the long-awaited final race!
The Palio dei Ciuchi is the heart of Asciano's social life, a moment of sharing and gathering that features the seven districts, true pillars of the local identity.
