Millennial Celebrations: THE EXHIBITION and its contents

ASCIANO - Basiilca di Sant'Agata, from 15 August 2019

Facing globally the history of a religious building born about a millennium ago, it is a rather bold undertaking, but certainly full of charm for the many discoveries, small and large, which, going forward with study and observation, emerge from the past and always succeed in surprised.

However, although there are documents and notes on this "particular church" and the exhibition manages to give some additional information to those already known, there are still many unanswered questions and we hope that all those who, by profession or passion, will investigate continuously on our local history, they are able to rectify or add news on a great architectural, artistic and religious heritage that has accumulated over time, thanks to the contribution of an entire community linked to it.

To facilitate the use of the contents, the exhibition is divided into four distinct strands:

While the socio-religious part represents the heart of the exhibition and is accompanied by 14 large lunated panels that reproduce the ceramic tiles of the Via Crucis, with original ideas for reflection, three other specific topics are dedicated
multimedia stations, full of images and descriptions.

In respect to the place where the exhibition is located and in order not to obstruct the religious functions that take place there every day, no particular sound effects have been adopted and the narrations at rather low volumes are activated only in the presence of visitors and are deactivated during any event religious. With the use of your "smartphone", enabled for reading QR codes in many areas of the exhibition, you can, however, take advantage of an audio guide
contextualized and re-listenable at will, even in moments following the visit.

It should also be noted that the description of the audio guide is richer in information than the descriptive panels included in the exhibition.

In conclusion, we invite all visitors to report any possible consideration of the exhibition and its contents which, with the intention of the organizers, has a prevalent popular purpose.

Any judgments or suggestions about the exhibition will surely be valuable for the deepening and improvement of information related to this Millennial place of Worship and Meditation.
