A structure created all around the water. Here, today like in the past, water is the unquestioned protagonist of the structure, so as to influence and model , since the origins, also the architectonic aspect, in its shapes and colours. The first centre of the present thermal complex , built in the second half of the XIX century, heart of the building, shows a strong relationship with its source: its particular horseshoe shape was projected to embrace and protect its spring. The use, outside and inside, of the travertine, with its warm tonalities and the thousand-year veins, let us think about a world which owe everything to its water. But the history of the building tells us also about an illustrious guest who in the first years of activity benefitted of the curative properties of our spring: Garibaldi ,the two worlds’ hero, who came here to take care of the wound reported during the battle of the Aspromonte: “The baths of Rapolano has taken off a rest of complaints in my left foot and the effect was instantaneous; this gives me a good opinion of this baths, so that I think to continue them for further days”. (Giuseppe Garibaldi, August 1867). All these aspects, which represent the historic memory of the building marry today with an avant-garde structure, recently enlarged following the principles of functionality and reception. Beside a wide swimming pool-park and an equipped wellbeing centre, the thermal complex also has a cosy winter garden, a wide and heated room, dipped into a park of centuries-old plants, where you could stay and taste the typical local products and those which come from the biological agriculture, which have been sectioned for you by our restaurants of the “Foyer of the Thermae”.A structure created all around the water.
