The Palace of Gori Martini is a nineteenth-century palace, which was built by the rich family Martini of Sienese origin, who bought the Cassero in 1500. With the extinction of the male line of Martini, the last heiress, Giuditta, married a member of the family Gori. The family took the name “Gori Martini” and it had a great importance for the social life of the village. In the second half of the XVIII century, the possessions of the Gori Martini in Serre enlarged and also the richness of the family. Venustiano Gori Martini, in the second half of the XIX century, wanted the construction of a palace on the lands where rose the houses and the farm of the family, at Porta Serraia. The planning of the palace, in travertine and neo-gothic style, was assigned to the famous architect Augusto Corbi. The front of the palace shows the orders of windows: monophores on the ground floor and biphores on the superior floor. The main entrance is flanked by two busts of lions and an external stairway.
