 LISTEN THE AUDIO GUIDE

The Church of Santa Maria delle grazie (or of the Madonna del Tribbio) is beside the cimitery of San Giovanni d’Asso. It was built at the expense of the community around 1600 but it has been almost completely rebuilt after the damages suffered during the second World War. Its rector was a woman , which was very uncommon, who kept the church and managed the income of an adjacent land. The canvas of the half of the XVI century by the sienese painter Bartolomeo Neroni, called the Riccio, on the only altar, which represents the Virgin Mary with Christ Child , Saint John the Baptist and Saint Caterina is today in the Diocesan Museum in Pienza. The Church of Santa Maria delle grazie (or of the Madonna del Tribbio) is beside the cimitery of San Giovanni d’Asso.
