Villa torrita, already a fortress located in the jurisdiction of the plebeian parish of S. Giovanni Battista in Corsano.

It is located on the top of a hill to the north-east base of which flows the Sorra stream.

The grandiose tower, already a fortress of the Ugurgieri family in the Middle Ages, was reduced to the use of a country house by the Marquis Nerli of Siena in later periods.

There is news of the castle of Grotti following the conquest and devastation, together with the annexed houses and the nearby tower of the Strine, by the Austro-Hispanic soldiers in the last war of Florence against Siena and Montalcino in 1555.
