“La Pieve dei Preti” is an ancient farmhouse, built on the top of one of the hills which characterize the Crete Senesi. The landscape, with its seasonal changes, offers a very wide view from Mount Amiata to the green hills of the Chianti, from the distant tops of the Casentino’s mounts to the close Medieval village of Serre di Rapolano. The structure shows following stratifications. Some of the most ancient parts date back to the XII century while other parts are more recent and date back to the XIX and XX century. From an historical point of view, we believe that “ Pieve dei Preti” was a legacy ( XIV and XV century) in favour of the Church, which held it until nowadays. The farmhouse has been restored following the principles of the bio-building, privileging natural materials( cork oak, roman lime, tinctures made with natural oils and earth and electric system with hooded cables) and solutions for the energy saving (solar panels and walled heating). The place where we can give you hospitality is a one -room flat of about 42 square metres, obtained in an old hut.
