DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION

Sculpture made of colored plaster to allow a coloring as close as possible to natural and make it easier to transport in the procession.

In fact, on the evening of Good Friday this sculpture is carried in procession through the streets of the town, followed by the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows.

The sculpture was donated by the author to the Company of the Oratory of Santa Croce in 1869, as a tangible sign of the permanent link with his country of origin.

Since then, the life-size statue has been kept under the main altar of the oratory from which it is taken only on the day of the procession.
