Torrente Bestina e i suoi Molini
The stream Bestina has origin on the slopes of Serre di Rapolano, among the travertine quarries near the village. Its path is short, about 7 km, because in the suburb of Camparboli in Asciano it joins the stream Copra and then flows into the river Ombrone some hundred metres northwards. The main characteristics of the stream are: the continuity of the flow of waters even at different regimes and the big difference in level between the spring and the mouth. This has allowed, in the past centuries, the civilisation of it in order to feed the numerous water mills which ground the wheat, a typical product of the Crete Senesi .
