In ancient MONTE CONTIERI. Castellare with parish church (St. John
Evangelist). 'Placed on a poggetto cretoso on provincial road that leads to Asciano closures and Mont'Oliveto Maggiore, among Ombrone that passes in the west of borro Capra that flows to the east.
In recent epoce was transformed into Villa with estate belonging to the noble family of Sienese Venturi hence the current name. In the middle of the last century has become Shoemburg property of the Prince of Montenegro and his family, related with the Marchesi Bargagli owners of nearby Mount Mori.
