The purpose of the Sasso is to evolve the stone, considered by many only as a building material, decoration material in full, into objects of design ideals, not only in rustic or restructuring, but also modern and stylish.
Our land - the quarries and the Crete Senesi.
The Stone of Calamati is in Rapolano Terme, in the heart of the Crete Senesi, in the valley of the river Ombrone along the motorway Siena-Bettolle. Rapolano is located above a hill made up of benches made out of limestone concretions (the famous travertine), used since ancient times as a building material. The "hill of travertine" resides on the territory of Rapolano forms the western slope of the mountain range known as Monti di Rapolano, which extends from Palazzuolo up to Montalceto, separating the Val di Chiana from Valle dell 'Ombrone, where lies the basin Rapolano. The rich deposits of white travertine in the basin are so abundant as to cover the surrounding area, or the Crete Senesi, the stream of Chiusella, northeast of Gunsmith, to the east. The calcareous nature of the territory originates from the thermal waters around Rapolano, home to the famous Baths.
