The door of Sant'Antonio is the second ancient gate that introduces inside the castle of Rapolano and one of the so-called "Cinque Torri": many were the stone towers with shoe base, today only partially visible, that had been built for defensive needs three to the north, one to the south and one to the west.

The Porta took its name from the noble chapel of the Calamati family, dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot, who stood right in front of the door and of which there remains a large pointed arch in stone.

At the end of the Second World War, on 3 July 1944 the retreating German army mined a part of the country to prevent or at least delay the advance of the allies and the noble chapel was devastated by the explosion.

With the need for housing and the building boom of the sixties of the last century, it was finally demolished together with the other ruins that overhang it and today unfortunately there is no trace of it.
