Asciano - Continuano le indagini attorno alla Basilica di Sant'Agata
Quando si inizia a indagare storicamente su un luogo o un edificio, le sorprese non mancano mai.
Così è stato per le ricerche condotte durante la preparazione della Mostra celebrativa riguardante il primo millennio di vita della più grande e importante chiesa di Asciano.
Terminata la fase di allestimento della mostra e nonostante il consistente materiale raccolto, sono rimaste aperte alcune questioni che, con il tempo, andrebbero indagate per allargare sempre più le conoscenze storiche del paese.
Nel documento allegato, si prova a dare risposta ad una curiosa questione da dipanare: quella relativa a una grande porta integrata con la facciata della chiesa e della quale si era persa memoria.
La ricostruzione a cui si è giunti avrebbe evidenziato novità sorprendenti, sulle quali sarebbe interessante poter fare ulteriori approfondimenti.
