DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
The work originally came from the Church of San Francesco in Asciano. Today, the painting is housed and on display at the Civic Museum of Archaeology and Sacred Art, Palazzo Corboli.
The painting depicts two important figures in Christian tradition:
- Saint Peter, the first of Jesus' apostles, and Saint Petronilla, a Roman martyr from the early centuries, whom ancient texts popularly refer to as the daughter of Saint Peter.
