Porta serraia a Serre di Rapolano
The old door that leads to Valle Serraia, to the east, is known as Port Serraia. Located at the junction between wall and the ancient castle keep, for this was also known as Puerta del Cassero. It is also known as Port Martini or Gori, because of the proximity of the nineteenth century Palazzo Gori Martini, whose construction had to perform the work of amending the door. It is surmounted by a neo-Gothic loggia, which serves as a transition for transit between the palace and garden, in the past, was part of the trail of the sentinels of the castle.
